Spiritual Hygiene: Daily Rituals for Highly Intuitive Souls

Is it anxiety or is it intuition? And how can you tell the difference?

One of the easiest ways to create a clearer channel between your mind and divine wisdom is to integrate spiritual hygiene practices into your daily routine.

Spiritual hygiene is a set of tools that allow you to clear your energetic aura and reconnect with the divine, grounding into a higher wisdom. While this language might be new to you, the principles around protecting and empowering your energy are present in modern religion, sports, personal development, and physics.

These are the practices that keep you from feeling overwhelmed or anxious after spending time supporting your loved ones through a difficult time. These are the practices that help you find confidence when you feel doubtful and nervous. These are the practices that help you create an unbreakable trust with your intuition.

Spiritual hygiene is a way of inviting the voice of the divine into your daily life. It allows you to understand where your energy ends and others’ begin. It is foundational to create healthy boundaries, relationships, and soul deep wellness, especially for those of you who are intuitive.

Because each spirit is unique, we believe everyone’s favorite spiritual hygiene tools are unique too. Refer to our list of recommendations as a menu, not a prescription–choose what resonates and leave behind what doesn’t. Trust your inner wisdom.

5 SPIRITUAL HYGIENE PRACTICES TO PROTECT YOUR ENERGY

  1. No Screen Mornings and Evenings - Yes, we are all obsessed with screens (this is one of the hardest practices for me) and they are messing with our spiritual wellness. But opening up your phone laying in your bed is the energetic equivalent of inviting thousands of people into your bedroom. Practice screen-free time for 30 minutes before bed and after waking up to center into your own energy.

  2. Cover Your Crown Chakra - Veiling, wearing hats, or other head coverings is present in almost every religious practice around the world. By physically covering your crown chakra with a cover, especially while you are praying or otherwise spiritually open, you can protect yourself in moments where your energetic aura is most porous.

  3. Physically and Spiritually Cleanse Your Space - There’s a reason why we say cleanliness is next to godliness. Keeping your home clean, reducing clutter, and spiritually cleansing the energy with your tool of choice is a powerful way of creating uplifting energy in your home. Be especially mindful of doing this after you travel or have guests in your home, it is very easy to pick up heavy energy when you’re on the move.

  4. Journal Your Feels - This could look a million different ways, whether you prefer electronic, paper, or voice journaling. Build a relationship of honesty and transparency with yourself in your journal entries, release the emotions that feel too difficult or complicated to share with others.

  5. Create Your Temple - Find a physical space in your home to either pray, meditate, journal, or do another relaxing activity to help you connect with yourself. It can be a corner, table, or a park in your neighborhood, but it should be a physical reminder to find a moment of peace (and hopefully deep breaths) into your daily routine.

Whether you’ve always wanted to have a better relationship with your intuition or are working on boundaries in your relationships, spiritual hygiene is the best way to feel more empowered in every area of your life.
